Webroot Releases Spy Sweeper 4.0

Detects and removes spyware threats like CoolWebSearch, Look2Me, Elitebar and Istbar; includes Phileas, an automated spyware research system.

Webroot Software, Inc., a provider of anti-spyware software and security technologies, today launched Spy Sweeper 4.0, its consumer anti-spyware software. This version includes Smart Shields to block attempted spyware installations and Phileas, an automated system to identify spyware, adware and other types of potentially unwanted software.
 
According to the company, Spy Sweeper 4.0 is the only anti-spyware solution with the capabilities to detect and remove spyware threats like CoolWebSearch (CWS), Look2Me, Elitebar and Istbar. Spy Sweeper 4.0 supports Windows 98 SE, 2000, Me and XP operating systems. It offers subscription at $29.95 for one year, $39.95 for two years and customers with an existing subscription are entitled to Spy Sweeper 4.0 at no additional cost.
