Sonicwall Totalsecure Makes Dynamic Network Security Easy For All

Comprehensive, Single-Package Security Solutions Make Network Protection Convenient and Simple to Install and Manage

SUNNYVALE, CALIF. – September 12, 2005 – SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNWL), today announced SonicWALL TotalSecure(TM), a comprehensive solution that makes it easy to solve the most critical Internet security issues facing businesses today. SonicWALL TotalSecure is a cost-effective tool that enhances business effectiveness by allowing small and medium businesses to increase Internet security and manage risk, productivity and bandwidth usage from a single firewall platform.

Combining hardware and software in an easily installed and managed offering, SonicWALL TotalSecure is constantly updated with signatures to protect networks from the latest threats, including viruses, spyware, worms and Trojans. The offering includes a hardware firewall, one year subscription to SonicWALL's Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Intrusion Prevention and Content Filtering services, firmware updates, and 8X5 support for all-in-one network protection. SonicWALL TotalSecure is available in five wired or wireless options based on the SonicWALL TZ150, TZ 170 and PRO 2040 firewall appliances, all in a highly affordable package.

"With SonicWALL TotalSecure, our channel partners will be able to offer their customers a simple solution to their security needs, and will be able to complete proposals and quotes more rapidly than by building customized solutions," said Lief Koepsel, director of channel marketing at SonicWALL. "Channel partners can use SonicWALL TotalSecure to develop a flow of recurring service subscription revenues, and will also benefit from a streamlined training requirement for their technical support and sales personnel."

Unlike cheaper hardware solutions which lack the ability to support a dynamically-updated signature database, SonicWALL TotalSecure platforms deliver comprehensive Unified Threat Management (UTM) capabilities including dynamic signature updates, and scanning incoming traffic for threats, malicious mobile code or dangerous applications. IDC defines UTM security appliance products as those which integrate multiple security features including network firewalling, network intrusion detection and prevention, and gateway anti-virus within a single appliance. The powerful content filtering capabilities also included with SonicWALL TotalSecure bundles allow users to regulate the type of content accessed, filter unacceptable material, and control bandwidth use by managing recreational file-sharing, multimedia streaming and downloading from peer-to-peer applications.

"With TotalSecure, SonicWALL is doing something new and exciting for the channel," said David Hirschman, director of hardware at ASAP Software, an industry-leading software services and hardware provider. "The single-package approach to comprehensive security is a great fit for us and also makes it easier to work with our customers, especially in the SMB market. Security is a big focus for us and we see SonicWALL as leading the market with this initiative."

Five offerings are available immediately in three sizes of firewalls based on the size of the user's office. Pricing starts at $540:

* SonicWALL TotalSecure 10 for small offices with up to 10 employees
* SonicWALL TotalSecure 10 Wireless
* SonicWALL TotalSecure 25 for medium offices with up to 25 employees
* SonicWALL TotalSecure 25 Wireless
* SonicWALL TotalSecure Enterprise for larger offices with 25 or more employees
