SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/03/2005 -- C9 Networks, the leading provider of affordable leading edge communications solutions for multiple service operators (MSOs), announced today that they will provide free wireless Internet access to anyone with a WiFi capable computer at the 2005 National Show, the annual convention and international exhibition of National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), April 3-5 at The Moscone Center in San Francisco. Wireless services will be provided using C9's C3000, an advanced cable modem termination system (CMTS) that supports both wired and wireless services in one box. The C3000 will be on display at C9's booth #6554 in the main hall and will definitively demonstrate the ease of deploying wireless service extensions for any service provider -- LIVE.
The C3000 supports 40Mbps downstream and 10 mbps upstream. Anyone with a wireless 802.11 modem can log on and check email or surf the Internet as long as they are in range of C9's booth.
The powerful C3000 is available today and represents the ingenuity and reliability of C9's products. This workhorse enables cable operators to simply drop in wireless services as an extension to or in lieu of wired services. An extensive subscriber management system and intuitive user interface allows the effortless management of users and security features.
