CTIA Wireless 2005

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 2005--Gameloft, a leading international developer and publisher of games for mobile phones, today announced a series of award wins for this year's Second Annual Wireless Gaming Awards, affectionately referred to as the Mobies. For the second consecutive year, Gameloft takes home the most wins with an impressive collection of four Mobies. Sponsored by Gamespot Mobile and Wireless Gaming Review, the Mobies recognizes the most innovative and technically accomplished mobile games in the industry. Judging criteria is based on gameplay, aesthetic value and replayability. The awards were handed out at the CTIA Wireless Show in New Orleans.

Gameloft won four out of ten awards including a surprise win in the Best Use of an Existing IP category. This was a discretionary award given by the judges to the game that makes the best use of a console to mobile adaptation.

Gameloft won in the following categories:

Best Adventure Game/RPG: Might and Magic(R): "What's most immediately striking about Might and Magic is its high degree of audiovisual polish. Gameloft is known for its top-notch art and sound design, but this game, six months after its commercial release, still blows away everything else in the genre." -Gamespot

Best Platform Game: Prince of Persia Warrior Within(TM): "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, puts Gameloft's well-earned design confidence on display for all of the mobile world to admire. Gameloft, the company that has consistently led the mobile gaming pack in presentational polish....revealed that it had another gear--above and beyond what most mobile games companies can even begin to plan for, let alone use--and shifted into it. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within was the result." -Gamespot

Best Strategy Game: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six(R) 3: "Rainbow Six 3 offers a unique take on military-themed strategy...Gameloft's mobile brings the game's strategic elements to the forefront, making for an experience that, at times, almost feels like a puzzle game...Gameloft's choice to gear the game around strategic confrontations--rather than all-out action--prove to be a solid choice." -Gamespot

Best Use of Existing IP: Prince of Persia Warrior Within(TM): "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is one of a handful of console-to-mobile ports to receive higher marks on the latter platform. The game manages to capture the best elements of its console counterpart without relying on unwieldy controls or an overly complex game design. A melange of the original Prince of Persia and his current adventures, the mobile Warrior Within is a terrific take on a popular franchise." -Gamespot

"Winning one award is always an honor, winning four Mobies is a testament to our consistency in developing, designing and producing quality games," said Michel Guillemot, Gameloft's President and CEO. "The awards give due credit to our strong production team who dedicated all of their energy into developing the best possible games. We are the best at what we do and we are proud to be recognized for it."

In 2004, Gameloft also won four awards in the following categories: Best Action Game: Nightmare Creatures, Best Platform Game: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Rayman 3 and Best Game (Lightweight category): Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
