BURNABY, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 2005--WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX VENTURE:WEW), is announcing the expansion of their North American presence through the addition of 6 new strategically located sales centers of excellence, increased head office space and a growing employee base. These new initiatives not only serve to strengthen channel programs with key partners such as Cingular Wireless (formerly AT&T Wireless) in the U.S. and Rogers Wireless in Canada, but also facilitate the leveraging of WebTech's core experiences into new markets such as Long-Haul Trucking, Utility and Government contracts.
Two solid examples of recent Government contracts include the City of Chicago, IL and the City of Richmond, BC. WebTech Wireless equipped over 500 streets and sanitation vehicles for the City of Chicago with wireless fleet management services for the purposes of providing location based information on the city's snowplow fleet in addition to assorted city supervisory vehicles. Since the original order for outfitting the City of Chicago's streets and sanitation vehicles, the City has further equipped additional vehicles within the Aviation Department at O'Hare International Airport.
In the City of Richmond, WebTech Wireless and Coastal Range Systems announced a collaboration to provide the City with a centralized traffic control system to alleviate congestion for emergency response teams. Phase I which included WebTech location device installation, has been completed. A working prototype of the solution including Coastal Range Systems' software is scheduled to take place in spring of 2006. The City is now looking at ways to customize WebTech's extremely flexible solution to suit future requirements.
