AMSTERDAM, Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 2005--At BuilConn / M2M Expo on November 8, 2005, Luxoft Labs will demonstrate its MeshNetics(TM) wireless sensor solution for the building monitoring business. Luxoft Labs, together with its UK partner BOX telematics, jointly developed a wireless sensor solution that allows remote building measurement. Thanks to this cutting-edge technology, real-time data continuously flows into monitoring companies' PCs, allowing accurate and efficient building assessment while saving significant manual labor costs.
"The pervasive internet revolution is in the making and no industry will remain unchanged. Thousands of tiny sensor devices all connected together allows real-time data collection," said Vasiliy Suvorov, Managing Director and CTO of Luxoft Labs. "Building monitoring is the case in point. Companies spend a lot of resources in building evaluation to enable advances in building materials and design. Typical investigations involve at least two professional engineers and may take anywhere from few months to few years. Wirelessly networked battery-powered sensors produce real-time data that feeds into companies' PCs, saving substantial manual labor costs."
The wireless MeshNetics(TM) nodes with differing measurement sensors are placed in and around buildings. They form an ad-hoc mesh network, using MeshNetics(TM) ZigBee Stack software, and transmit data through the GPRS gateway to the monitoring company's server. The data is then stored in a database and reports are generated. The whole process is completely automated.
"Wireless m2m technology is the future of remote measurement," said Charles Joel, Projects leader of BOX telematics. "Delivering the latest m2m hardware and BOX Gateway web based solutions; its continual investigation and delivery of ground breaking 'wire free' connectivity BOX telematics stay at the forefront of technology by working with Luxoft Labs and its 'MeshNetics' technology. Remote building measurement delivers high value data via the BOX gateway enabling quick and accurate data decisions without the need for on site engineering evaluation."
